Great Book

Hi, I have just finished a book which I think you all would enjoy - boy people especially - it is called "On the Edge : My Story" by Richard Hammond.

I don't know if you have the UK television show Top Gear in the US or not - it is a good car show about testing new cars, comparisons and a lot of humour.

Anyway, Richard Hammond crashed a jet propelled car at over 300 mph and the book is partly written by his wife and him about his life, accident and recovery. It is good, makes you laugh and cry. Jeffn I think you would love it.

I was especially interested in his treatment and the avoidance of over stimulation and stress to prevent him "crashing" as the ability to recover would be so much more difficult. I think he has been incredibly lucky with his specialists.

Thanks Lucy

Hi Lynlee, Thanks for the lead I'll check it out next time I'm at the book store.
I enjoy reading about people who overcome their difficulties and TBI/PCS are just little bumps in the road to overcome.

Take Care Jeffn

Another good read....

I love to read, I am told I always have.....Getting back to where I can just plain read, let alone read and understand and remember what I have read has been such a joyful accomplishment for me!!!!

The was this emperor of the old Roman Empire named Claudius, a truly amazing fellow all things considered.....You may have seen or remember hearing about the PBS mini-series "I Claudius". It, surprisingly enough, turned out to be one of the best mini-series of any genre yet produced.

Anyway, there was this fellow named "Suetonius" who wrote a biographical tome on the lives of the first 12 Caesars. Cleverly enough, the book is titled "The Twelve Caesars"
I highly recommend that you get the book, and read the chapter on Claudius's life......
Actually I would read the entire book. Truly, one of the 10 best books I have ever read, that and "The Annals of Imperial Rome", which should both be required reading for anyone ever even thinking about running for public office..
The best book I have ever read is there too....."Roughing It" by Mark Twain an amazing read..........................read it and see..........

And the book is available FOR ABSOLUTELY FREE!!!!!

Go here:

The Lives of the Twelve Caesars, Complete

If you really like to read, and prefer the writings of earlier times. like before the mid-1920's, Project Gutenberg is just what you have been looking for.....
All the Mark Twain, HG Wells, Jules Verne and 10's of thousands more, free for the taking.....
One of the best sites ever for Jr and Sr high schoolers anywhere, IMHO of course
Just go there........................
