Of course they'll study it till after I'm dead.

Shetawk, this is a really really old article from 2002.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/nature/1935593.stm They have done larger clinical tests with it but they aborted it in 2004. The problem is the delivery with the pump. They are looking for safer and better deliveries. GDNF is a neurotrophic factor. The most promising trial with neurotrophic factor at the moment is the ceregene trial. But we still have to wait for good results from them. |

The website http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-110460/Parkinsons-cure-gave-life.html says, "Parkinson's 'cure' gave me back my life (Roger Nelson), Wednesday, Jun 27 2012." Thought it was more recent but it was only telling me today's date. Oh well. Shetawk |

More info about the matter:
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/ar...ging-drug.html So apparently half of the doctors involved were completely against the decision to stop the trials. I hope the new GDNF studies with the new insertion system will be executed in a better way. It is a real shame people with such a disease have to live like this, while there is a known product out there that can make the difference. |
