Compulsive lying related to ADD?

Hi all,

I know a couple of people with ADD. Both of them seem to have a habit of either stretching the truth or outright fabricating stories.

It can be very frustrating for me and others dealing with them, and of course it affects their credibility in relationships.

Does anybody else here have any experience with this? And if so, how do you deal with it and help them to stop doing this?

oppositional defiant behavior... ODD:

and some personality disorders have lying as a symptom.
It may or may not include ADD/ADHD.

This is a pretty serious symptom/trait. I think it needs professional therapy and evaluation.

Hi, there

I have personality disorder, and borderline A.D,D. I strech the trigh and lye too. It could be a rangeof things for me. To that i had a drill sargent father, and a relaxed mother. It could be because i have a skin disorder which cause me to have low self-essteem and i think that what i have to say is not good enough so i stretch the truth( ex: i worked out for a hour but i tell people two hours.) I have always my wholelife told people i am one year older than what i actully am. It might be alos because i think what ever i say is not interesting enough so i have ot add to it. I don't know it hard though. It struggling though.

Any one with suggestions on ways to help that?
