Mobic/meloxicam & Extra Sleep ??

Anyone notice that they need to sleep more hours since starting on the Mobic/meloxicam?

Can't say that I have, but I have a lot of trouble sleeping anyway.
I'm taking meloxicam more on an as-needed basis, and I don't notice much change either way. For all I know it's a placebo effect, but I'd never discount that if it works!

I am off the Mobic, now using it like you, Dr. Smith. I am using it on an as needed basis. I am taking fish oil, curcumin and ginger. I am using only canola and extra virgin olive oils for eating and cooking. I found out at least part of the reason I needed extra sleep but it was not the Mobic causing it. I had another medical problem. Needing more sleep should be a red flag for us that something is wrong. I also was sent for a sleep study.

Much better than I expected. I am not as well off as when I was on the high dose Mobic full time, but I am OK. It isn't so bad that I cannot sleep or exercise, and that, to me was the whole point.

I am on other supplements for allergies (boswellia and Quercetin) and that may have some anti-inflammatory effect as well. I also take vitamin E and CoQ10, but I don't know if that has an effect. I can only be sure about the curcumin, ginger and fish oil. The quality is important. I take Nature's Way Ginger Root. Oh. Although I take straight curcumin, I NOW also take Joint Solutions (True Essentials) which has Turmeric (curcumin) but also has HA (hyaluronic acid), MSM, and glucosamine, but that was a recent addition. So, again, I must say that the others, ARE helping.

We've been taking a well-regarded Glucosamine/Chondroitin/MSM combination for years, but I'm seriously thinking about dropping it - for a time anyway - as I can't say I've ever noticed any improvement. My doctors have been split on it; some say take it, some say take it if you want to (it can't hurt) and some say don't bother - it's worthless.

Today I found this, which isn't exactly new, but sort of explains why even doctors are split on the efficacy/usefullness of taking these supplements:
