T-Spine Epideral w/steroid injection

Anyone ever have one of these? Lots of fun let me tell you:( . Took three times and still may not be 100% successful.

I've had several epidurals (ESIs), and each was done under conscious-sedation (Versed) and fluoroscope, which is live-guided x-ray to assure the doc plants the needle where intended rather than taking a wild "stab" at things.

How was yours done?

Same way, the only problem was everything was too tight to get the needle successfully through to the discs.

Awwww :(. When was yours done? I hope that you get some pain relief from it.

Me, too! Not a whole lot of fun, either...
My problems with the darn things is that they never seem to work. When the area is numbed, things are fine, but as soon as it wears off, I wish I hadn't done it. For me, the steroids don't do a whole lot of good as the injury isn't acute, it is degenerative. I DID, however, have some luck with a radio frequency ablation done. Knocked out the cruddy wrap-around rib pain for almost a year! Now, the insurance company has decided that they are not covering the procedure as it is 'experimental', and 'not proven to be effective'.
The best part is, they covered the first one, no questions asked.

What I wish they'd come up with is the lidocaine infusion pump. They numb it, I don't feel it....I'm happy...

:D
