Ritalin and depression

I have been depressed most of my life, am 62 now and recently diagnosed with ADD.
Shrink put me on Methylphenidate - 20 mg, then 40, now at 60. Ritalin has done more for me than any anti-depressant I have ever been on (and I've been on a lot through the years). Reason: It makes me feel Competent!

I think that I have the opposite effect with my Vyvanse/Adderall combo. I felt completely incompetent this year. I may have had set my expectations too high. I thought that I would turn into a super organized efficient machine. Well- that didn't happen. And I struggled with handling the wear off- which kept me working aimlessly. I was so jumble-brained this year, I wondered if i was better off sober lol! It's great when you find the right mix to be your best you. Im still working on it
