Using luting cement for better temporary fixes ?

Has anyone with phobias or other issues resorted to trying to fixing their problems themselves ?

I cant get to the Dentist you see , and ontop of that, also have a preexisting health problem that does not respond well to drills or anything that basically places a motor inside my mouth / head.

Its largely because of this and piece of tooth thats chipped near the gum-line of my front tooth that i feel i have no choice but to take action myself to try and resolve it, but as Ive never done this before I just wanted to see if any one else here had done it first ?

My idea was to buy one of those Self adherent cements you can cure with a UV light ( not sure about the mw ) as this is im pretty sure what my own Dentist already used to fill some small holes in my front teeth the last time.

It seems quite straightforward and certainly better than those terrible putty filling that barely last a minute , but nevertheless something Im not 110 % confident about , purely because Ive never done it before.

Maybe this is the wrong place to ask, but I thought id try any way ,if anything for comfort of mind.
