Hello - new member

Hello guys, let me introduce myself ... ... Im Rob, I'm 54 and live in NE Scotland.

I have FMS/CFS diagnosed in 2006 but I've experienced symptoms since a car accident in 1998. I currently being medicated with Tramadol, Naproxen and Codeine/Paracetamol - I tried Amitriptyline a few years back but had to give up on it as I felt stoned 24/7.

Looking to gain more knowledge on my conditions and suggestions for better medication. Understanding of FMS/CFS isn't so good on the right hand side of The Pond, although I'm lucky to have a sympathetic doctor unlike so many here in the UK.

Hi Rob and Welcome to NT, if you're still around.:rolleyes: I usually spend my time on the Multiple Sclerosis board, but come here once-in-awhile. So sorry you're experiencing those fibro symptoms.....Ouch!!! Haven't found anything on this side of the "pond" that helps much with the pain either. My MS comes with a lot of pain too and the best thing I've found for both is just over-the-counter Aleve (naproxin). The narcotics don't touch it and just make me feel "spaced out".........I'd rather deal with the pain instead of going through life in a fog.

For me, the worst pain is when the barometer is falling, like twelve or so hours before rain, snow, high humidity, etc. This takes up the whole year, so there really are no good times, maybe a day or two a year when there's no humidity to speak of, not too hot, no rain....you get the picture. :eek: Are you bothered by weather changes too?

After watching "Downton Abbey", one episode took place in Scotland where the countryside looked REALLY GREEN!!! The clouds seemed to almost meet the ground.........beautiful to look at, but thought there would be lots of pain for those of us with these painful ailments.:rain::Sob:

All the best to you in your fibro journey and I'll try to check in here more often. Take care...........:hug:

Hi Rob and Judy

I also don't come in often, mainly because this wasn't a active forum.
But will check back in more often.

I'm Donna and I spend a lot of time in the bi-polar forum.

I have fibro, and PCS (Post Concussion Syndrome), diabetes, blood pressure problems, asthma. Who knows I migt be leaving something out.

I use gabapentin, topamax, hydrocodeine, and then my other meds. Medformin, verapimille.

Donna:hug::grouphug:
