Curious, what's involved with a TOS sonograph?
 

I'm going for my first one in a couple weeks with an actual TOS doc (Dr Pearl in Dallas) and I'm just wondering, how does this work?

Are they getting an image of the actual thoracic outlet to see if there is an impingement or are they like using it on your arm to measure bloodflow? Is it looking for nerve, arterial, venous? Or all three?

Does it also catch pec minor syndrome? I'm kinda curious about that as well cause I've noticed lately the armpit has been one of my most painful locations, and I don't want to get misdiagnosed or half diagnosed.

I haven't have one of those tests but others have posted about it.

It might be called doppler also..I hope someone posts to clarify if I'm mistaken..:o

You might try the search tool in my siggy using terms like sonogram, doppler and such to find posts while waiting for others with more info to post.

Also arm pit sx/pain can be very much a soft tissue or lymph gland issue, there are many you tube vids on lymph massage and gentle stretches for that are.

If I hold a book for reading too long my armpit area gets sore, puffy and tender.
for me it is the static locked arm holding position, seems to clog up the lymph gland sand some massage and stretches clear it up.

Yea I did a little searching but was confused, as best I can tell there are different kinda of ultrasounds, depending if they are looking at blood flow or nerves I guess.

I'm not going to worry about it to much as the guy I'm going to see if apparently suppose to be very good. He has one of the longest running threads on here so I suppose I could ask there what patients experienced on their first visit.

And who knows about the armpit pain, TOS can apparently present a hundred different ways, and what I called my armpit thinking about would better be called the edge of my shoulder, which do to my skinny stature is basically right above my armpit lol, which upon looking more seems to be a pretty common complaint.
