Having big oral surgery on Tuesday

So please think positive thoughts for me on Tuesday. I am having that surgery done finally that I mentioned back in Sept. now that we got in the house and are all settled. 7 teeth up top are coming out (that's all I have left) and then he's going to do an aveoloplasty (smoothing of the upper bone ridge in preparation for a denture to go on it after the swelling goes down) and I am thankfully having a twilight sedation so I won't remember ANY of this stuff.

SO scared, but ready to get the big pain OUT of the way and get HEALING finally so I can STOP having these God awful headaches. My head hurts so much anymore, it's gone from period related migraines, to tension/stress style ones every week, sometimes 4 times a week and one migraine or two. It's rough. So I've been kinda suffering. I feel like crap, have lost 12 pounds since October and just hurt.

I really hope this is the right thing to do...SO frightened.... :grouphug:

Thoughts and prayers

Dear Pam, :grouphug:  :grouphug:

I am sending thoughts and prayers.
You have planned for this and thought about it. You sound ready. Trust in your own judgement and in your medical team.
I wish you much peace, love, and support for the procedure and afterwards.

good luck, and re: increased migraines

Dear Pammie

Sending you the best wishes that the surgery goes smoothly and that you heal up quick. i hope it does resolve some of those headaches for you.

the increase in migraines could just be due to all the stress what with house buying, moving etc. also having other types of pain adds stress too.

magnesium, b-complex, and zinc are useful if you are under high stress in general - you use more b-complex and zinc, and many of us don't get enough magnesium which helps with all tension-related issues. please check with your doc or pharmacist before adding supplements, to ensure they are compatible with all your meds.

my neuro gave me magnesium pidolate to help with migraines - that is the fastest absorbed. if you can't get that, Natural Calm is a good formulation.

:hug::hug: let us know how it goes tuesday. glad you're having the sedation.

It will all turn out OK pamster. That light sedation will help so much. I also had teeth removed. Took a valium before the appt. as well. I wish you all the best and a very speedy recovery. ginnie

Thank you all for the kind words, I know I can do this, the hardest part will be waiting until I get the IV and sedation. I am so worried. I'll get through it though....

Hi again pamster

You won't be alone. People are really thinking about you. I use to stress over the dentist too. You will do just fine, and when you come home, you will be OK too. We all will be here when you come back. ginnie:hug::)

We are all sending prayers of healing and calming thoughts. Glad you left us know so you take all the support with you as you go under. Something they offered my cat was a lamp treatment, helps healing. I am not sure if that is an option, but listen to the doctor and take care of yourself?
Hugs
Di
