Questions

I am new to this forum. And was just browsing looking for answers to all of my questions. I have had four Major Concussions, And believe me. It has taken it's toll. My memory is next to none, and I have constant headaches.

I have an interesting symptom though, In the span of my concussions I was doing a large amount of Narcotics daily, and now I feel "high" almost all of the time. In turn, My studies are suffering and I have been turned down from all jobs I have applied for.

In past i have also had anxiety issues which tops all of this off. Somedays, It's a chore to do anything, Somedays I don't do anything at all...My life is kind of spiraling out of control because of this Any help would be great. Thank you for your time.

Bard,

Welcome to NeuroTalk.

I am confused about what help you are looking for. Having not experienced being high, I struggle to understand your sensation. I wonder if you have a dopamine dysfunction. Dopamine is the pleasure neurotransmitter. It is the center of most addictions.

Tell us more and we'll try to help.

I think I know what you mean.

I'm not sure what you consider 'high' but I have periods of days where I am completely elated for no reason, even when it's not appropriate. I also have periods of feeling 'high', as if I'd smoked. And people often mistake me for having smoked.

But then sometimes I'm the other end of the scale...lethargic, depressed...

I'm so sorry to hear how difficult things are for you...I knwo the feeling well of life spiraling out of control. I'm here if you need me.

Hi Bard,
May I ask what you mean when you say you were "doing narcotics"? Maybe it's a British thing but this is how we refer to people who are drug addicted not ones taking drugs for pain relief.
Are you saying you have been abusing drugs?
