Pain Management and Nerves Block

I encountered this article in WebMd. It talks about nerves blocking to help manage the nerve pain.

Does anyone use the therapy with significant relief. For how long the relief lasts? In the long term use, which is better withless side effects: pain killers or nerve blocks?

Thank you.

mary

I tried a nerve block and it gave me no relief. The doctor who did it said he would try it once but he did not believe it would work for SFN.
Maybe someone else has had better results.

They use nerve blocks with RSD patients. (another type of neuropathy). They have mixed success from what I have read here. Some it works for some not.

Many SFN patients have the problem in the dorsal roots of the spinal cord...so blocks would be less useful because of location.
