Can I get a "Hallelujia" ????

Hubby had skiing accident February 2011 and has TBI - been off work since then and barely functioning most days. Trips to the grocery are a big event in his life nowadays.

His employer agreed to hold his job for one FULL year giving him until 2/04/12 to return to work in any capacity for any amount of time per day. We were hoping hubby would be well enough to go back part time.

3 weeks away and we realize it's simply NOT going to happen unless the Lord God Almighty touches him in a miraculous way (we'd be ok with that - just saying!).

So hubby went for routine follow-up with primary dr today to get a note for employer stating he is still unable to return to work. Drove to employer's to turn it in and let them know the odds of him returning were very, very slim.

At 52 years old with 25 years working for this company he has accrued 5 weeks vacation time yearly and makes very good money as a machinist (factory work). The thought of losing this has caused incredible stress on hubby.

So, he sits down in Human Resources and gives them his note and starts getting choked up as he talks. The lady interrupted hubby and says "I have something to tell you. People around here started realizing several months ago you would probably not be ready to come back to work in February and kept badgering Human Resources and Management to do something about it because they didn't want to lose you as a valued employee. So, we (the company managers) approached the parent corporation (they are international and own 20 or some companies - mostly mid-sized as hubbys place is with 500 or so employees).

New corporate policy has been passed and we now are offically notifying you that we are holding your job not for 12 months, but for an ENTIRE 24 months. No loss of seniority. No coming back to work at a substantially reduced wage. No loss of 4 of the 5 weeks vacation. Everything will be the same as when you first went out. (For hubby and his co-workers who will need it in the future due to cancer, etc)

HALLELUJIA - OUR GOD REIGNS

Praying for God to reveal himself to each one of you during your trial. Encouraging you to "let God be God" and answer the prayers in HIS way and in HIS timing. He has a PERFECT plan for your good or for HIS glory or maybe a little of both. I KNOW He can move mountains and pray He will do so for you all too!

Peace, grace & blessings to you...

Amy,

Good to hear he has such a good group of people at his job.

Just in case, it is time for him to apply for Social Security Disability Income. He has met the one year of disability required to qualify to apply. If he becomes able to return to work, his SSDI will stop. In the mean time, the income will come with Medicare health benefits.

I had a friend at church whose employer took care of him until he passed away from colon cancer. There are companies that are open to God's hand of provision.

My best to you.
