Weight Gain

Can 30 mg of prednisone still cause weight gain? Or is it just me being super lazy and not being able to excerisze? This is the first problem ive noticed with the weight gain (being quite alot) since the beginning of the school year ive gained 25lbs...and i have been excersizing quite a bit..

Im getting really frustrated as this disease keeps taking everything i have/want.

This week will be a year of me being on constant prednisone- I started thanksgiving night when i couldnt breathe in the er.

Hope your all well- having a hard one.

2nd day of another IVIG tomorrow.

This is what I know of Predisone. It is a steroid.

Now, I hope you don't get offended about my example.

Here it goes. . .

My mother and dog were on the same dosage. My mother did not gain weight and had been on the drug for years. My dog was on the drug for about two months and got super-sized overnight; I guess because his body depended more on the drug. His body did give out on him, but after all was said and done he fully recovered.

I know you are freaked out by the weight gain. Perhaps, you can talk to your doctor about another option, but if it is working for you. . .

You might want to reconsider.

I was on 120 mg eod of pred for almost one year without gaining weight.

Gradually down to 20 mg eod over the last 9 months and gained 10 pounds.
