Weekend Check in Thread: Dec 13 How are you?

Hi,

How was your weekend?
I've been busy: my time is taken up with sleep, not sleep, work, sleep, not sleep, work,
not sleep some more but thinking about sleep, . . .

I have to drive to CVS to pick up meds.
Does anyone else wish CVS could deliver meds?
I'd like to live in a city where I could get deliveries.

I hope that you had a good weekend.

I wish they would deliver too. *sigh* oh well, at least they have a drive through, right? :) I got a new digital camcorder for Jackie and he LOVES it! It's great! $30 bucks for it too. So I am very happy today, they had TWO left when I went in this morning to Big Lots to get it for him, I was so thrilled. He ran LAPS around the house with it wth such a HUGE grin I wish I had had the other camcorder set up and battery charged to have been able to video tape that reaction. I'll have to use my head next time. LOL

I walk tomorrow again, and should have some footage to share by lunchtime if all goes well and it (the vacuum socket) works out good for me. So I am kinda anxious about that, hoping it goes well, but not holding my breath yet. Hope ou get some good sleep tonight Mari! :D

Extremly distracted by everything around me so I drank a bunch of caffine and now I am all hopped up on it. But hey at least I am doing my homework. And I am getting my car tommorow. I am working hard at work. My grandpa is back from the hospital and told me that he can not leave because he loves me too much. I told I cried when he was in the hospital.

The day he dies is the day I will have to go on disability leave big time. I will cry forever I just know it. My bosses however are pretty cool with me now. I am glad for that.

My grandfather keeps telling me that I need to get into acting over and over again. I believe him. But where in Lansing Michigan should I go? Every place I look besides a community college told me I have to be a professional. That is so unfair! I am a freaking DRAMA QUEEN. what more do you want?

Well what ever.

I am getting married this month as well. I am excited about that because I am getting a wonderful hubby for Christmas. He has been with me for 2 years and We are going on three. We are planning on getting married on Christmas Eve.

My mom is very happy! And excited for me and my step father is too. I am not telling my step mother because all she ever did was be overly parnoid and control everything and kind of like makes me feel like I am incapable of living my life independently. So I will tell her when all the paper work is done bwahahahah! She cannot stop me that way. She does not know I am getting my car tommorow either. I will tell her when I have had it for a month or two. :) And when the time comes for me to start the familly I will get pregnant and then be like I am going to have a child. :) I am taking the power away from her once and for all. feels good because mentally I have always felt I have had to really seek approval from her in everything in my life when the truth is I should do it myself and if i mess up, oh well start over.

Sharla

And from this day forward I am wearing casual light make up to give myself some kind of image. SHeesh!

Congratulations Sharla.

Will be thinking of you.

Mari hope you get some good sleep tonight.

Pam, hoping Jackie continues to enjoy the camcorder.

Things seem to be hapening!

I like the mood of this post.
Mari, in-spite of your sleep, non-sleep, work, and thinking about sleep cycle, you sound upbeat. I don't know what CVS is, but I'll vote for anything that makes our lives easier.:D
Pamstar - I have recently joined back, and have not had a chance to get to know you, but I am glad Jackie is enjoying the camcorder. Please let us know how it goes with the vacuum socket.
Sharla - you are on a roll girl. Congratulations! And do you know how lucky you are to have it in you to love your grandfather so much? I am so happy that you have begun to want to wear a little make up. Wanting to look well groomed is always a healthy sign. And what are you going to wear for the wedding?
Dmom - not fair you haven't written anything about what you have been up to.
Bizi - a new water colour? Can we have a look? "Two middle-aged women on vacation together without their hubbies" - :Excited: You will have the best time!
And Waves - I hope you are better today.

I have been wrapped up reading about a very messy adoption case - dreadful story of a total botch up from the adoption agency as well the mother. Involves a special needs child too. I don't know if I have written this before, but I am an adoptive mother as well as a post adoption counselor, so all my senses take a battering.
If anyone is interested in reading about this case let me know and I'll send the link.

checking in

Mari... hoping you can get more sleep. are there no drugstores that make deliveries in your area? or large grocery stores with pharmacy that would?

Beth... enjoy the cruise! :) I will miss you though. Looking forward to hearing about your adventures when you come back! :)

Sharla... wow. well, first i'm really glad your grandad is out of the hospital. i think it is so wonderful you two have such a strong bond.

congratulations on your upcoming wedding! wow. and i like your attitude about your step-mother it sounds as though you have been under her thumb a bit much (she a bit controlling?), and i agree... getting out is good. do first, tell her later. ha! i'm glad you have your mom to share with though. these happy times are good to share. :):):)

i appreciate doing the make-up as an image thing... indeed i see it as a form of self-expression. i used to enjoy make-up a lot. remember to wear it for yourself first... i mean sure, we do not wear it just to look in the mirror, so we inevitably consider the appeal to others, but let that be subordinated to your own sense of aesthetics.

aggghhh... need a break from the screen now...

(((Pam))) good luck with the socket!!! Keep us posted.

Isis... thanks for the kind thoughts, i am improving.

Donna here's wishing you a good week ahead, whatever you've got up your sleeve ;) Hope Derrick's letter comes in as expected. :)

Hi, Everybody,
It's good to hear from you.
I needed to hear from people.

Pamster 12-14-2009 07:29 AM

Wow Isis, it's been awhile! So good to see you back. I hope the reading about the messy adoption case doesn't bring you too down, it takes a special person to be able to open your heart to a child, regardless of if you gave birth to them if you ask me. :D

Thanks waves! I will be posting again later, appt is at 10 am. Should be an hour or two because of having to refit the leg with the new socket. :D

BTW the new avatar pic is from the new camcorder, Jack took it when we were testing it out. :D I liked it so much I decided it would make a great avatar! :D

Mari 12-14-2009 08:04 AM

Dear Pam,
I hope that your appointment goes well.
I like your pic. :D
