The New Mandated Light Bulbs
Remember the thread we had here on the new energy efficient light bulbs, which congress has mandated, to replace all Incondescent bulbs, by the year 2014?
If you want a good laugh, see this video. It's priceless..:D http://youtube.com/watch?v=e-LOtKIIKcg |
Oh that was great, thanks for posting it. :D

You know, Sal~ That was really interesting. I couldn't quit watching or listening.
Thanks for posting this. |
Thank you for posting this. I only recently learned there was mercury in the bulbs and now that I know they are only made in China it really makes me stop and think.

What about these CFL's causing an increase in symptoms in those with neurological disease or increasing migraines in people prone to them? Oh, it all can just become so confusing! You try to do what's right, but what's right?
|
I would like to see a few congressmen get up there and at least repeal the law so that people like me who cant be around those CFL bulbs because they mess with my vision and give me migraines will still have access to the incandescent bulbs that have been perfect since Edison invented them.

Thanks Sally!
I found it funny enough to send off to a couple of people :) |
Hee hee!!!
My sentiments exactly. They are extremely low energy consuming, but at a price - the mercury and the made in China thing. I'm only using them in the emergency light fixtures (that come on with loss of power) in the mission control center. The NASA JSC energy czar wants me to use them all over but ha-ha - I can't. They won't fit! I gotta use them in the emergency light fixtures because of my emergency lighting units don't have sufficient wattage with incandescant bulbs (UPS batteries). Hey - the guy's from Texas... As far as mercury is concerned, how many of you grew up with a beaker full of mercury that you played with on the kitchen table? I did. I'm still alive. Of course, I got a boatload of neurological problems, but I still don't think it's related. I'd rather blame the steel mills in Cleveland... Tom |
