anyone know about liver disease?

I am wondering if these labs indicate a problem with my liver. I can't seem to find out anything. An elevated A/G ratio, low BUN. An hepatic hemangioma and cyst, said to be benign. Low WBC and RBC and slightly impaired glucose tolerance. I don't drink any alcohol at all and don't use drugs. Maybe these labs don't mean anything, I don't know. Have muscular atrophy for unknown reason. Recently started having fluid gurgling through abdomen which might be ascites.

Blood definitions

Hi Lily:

This is an interesting site with definitions:

http://www.nhlcyberfamily.org/blood.htm

Blood Urea Nitrogen (BUN) is waste from the liver, processed by the kidneys. It also reflects whole carbohydrate storage, liberation, and continuation in the liver associated with many glands (i.e., kidneys). BUN tends to rise in dehydration and in kidney or heart failure. Prednisone and other steroids may cause BUN to rise. Increases in BUN can also indicate liver and/or thyroid inactivity. Decreased BUN indicates pancreas and/or adrenal inactivity. BUN can also be elevated by a high protein diet or recent exercise.

This one for the a/g ratio:

Hope these help,
Kat

Hi Lily,

I don't know about liver disease, exactly.

What I know is that I was told by someone who had lived in hydrogen sulfide, then gotten tetanus (which is also my experience) that she did a liver cleanse and it had helped her a lot...

So I asked about liver cleanses here, I think. But I forget, so I'm not sure.

In the end I decided to get the Milk Thistle, and I began taking that.

It had a really startling effect at the start, in that I suddenly felt quite bad, about the way I did when I was living in the hydrogen sulfide... and as I understand it that was because there were toxins caught in my liver which the Milk Thistle released... so I got to experience them again as they ... I guess they left.

I was totally amazed when I read the blurbs by the Milk Thistle people, I mean really amazed... They were saying that people who took Milk Thistle regularly, I think it was regularly, could eat certain of the poisonous mushrooms and not have them destroy their livers.

Well, I'm not planning on testing that out.

but it sure made an impression on me.

You might look into Milk Thistle. :)
