Hi Everyone! L5, SI Arthropathy, SI joint dysfunction, undiag cause Neuropathy

I would like to introduce myself to the group and would love any ideas or advice. I have been suffering with steadily intensifying pain, weakness and numbness for over 2 years. It started when I was mugged almost 3 yrs ago and my coccyx was broken. That fracture fused, but I seem to be left with quite a bit of damage in the surrounding sacral plexus. I went to an Urgent care Doctor the day after injury, then followed up with a lazy Ortho that was about to retire. I complained of pain, tingling and numbness from my lumbar region down to my feet as well as very large swollen lumps on the lumbar and sacral areas. He gave me NSAID and told me to go home. Fast forward a year + later after regaining insurance and I go to a new Ortho who doesn't believe me when I describe my symptoms or trust that I know my own body and pain tolerance. At this point I still have swollen bursa, pain and numbness. I feel as though my hip is unhinging from my sacrum. After demanding an MRI it is discovered I have L5-SI Arthritis, multiple subluxations in my lumbar spine, piriformis syndrome and neuropathy. I started Physical therapy and I powered through it even though it seemed to make the pain worse. I found a new Ortho that finally diagnosed the SI joint Dysfunction.
So, this new Ortho has scheduled me for Cortisone epidural injections in a week. I’ve heard mixed reviews and would love some insight on the dangers and benefits of this procedure.
I hope this wasn't too long for a first post
