Hey everyone!
I was wanting to post my pic next to my threads, I have my pics in my computer, but cannot figure out how to place my photo next to threads. Can anyone help me on this issue? Thanks!

I'll try to help. This might sound really convoluted, I'm sorry, but once you get the hang of it, it gets easier and easier.

You want to make an Avatar there next to where your name is? Like next to my name today I have an upside down sprig of wattle.

First you need to make sure your picture is the correct size so it will work as an avatar on the site. I can't find it right now, but there is somewhere that says what the size limit is. I make all my avatars under 80 pixels. On a rectangular avatar, the size is sometimes something like 80 x 60, with 80 being my highest limit. OK, I found it. Note: The maximum size of your custom image is 80 by 80 pixels or 19.5 KB (whichever is smaller).

To do that I use a programme called Irfanview. http://www.irfanview.com/

Once I had that I just sent any pics to Irfanview and they can be resized/resampled there by chosing a pic in File and then Resize/resample in Image. Once you've resized it to make it smaller if needed, you'll then need to SAVE it in File

After that, you just need to go back here to your own User CP up there on the page here below where it says NeuroTalk, and once in User CP, go to Edit Avatar.

Once you have Edit Avatar open in your UserCP, then you click Browse and it'll bring up a window of uploaded Files. I've saved mine in My Pictures, so then I just double click on the pic. I want and bingo, there it is in the space next to Browse.

After that, you need to Save Changes at the bottom of the Edit Avatar section.

There's also another very easy utitlity (I've never been able to quite 'get the hang' of irfanview) to do this, that allows you to resize and DL it directly to your desktop (or wherever you wish it to go) and then you can upload it to this avatar creation. (just play with it as a test for awhile to see what it can do)

There's the Paint program that comes with Windows also.

the size tool is called stretch/skew.

I thought curious had a post about making avatars but it must be inside of one of the threads.

I'll try to do a search for it.

Wow, that resize2mail one you posted is so easy, nide! I haven't seen that one before.
Thanks for posting that.
I guess I only find irfanview easy 'cause I've already got it downloaded and am used to it, only takes a couple of clicks, but that one you posted is super simple.
