It's okay to not make sense when you are hurting. You've come to a good place for shoulders to lean on. I am praying for comfort to come your way. :smileypray: We are here for you. There are lots of good listeners here at NT.

We are here for you anytime you want to talk more. Hope things start to seem better soon. :grouphug:

You are a child of the King. However, satan wants to you think you are nothing and question your purpose in life. Don't allow satan the master of deception to have victory in your life. Tell him he's not welcome and ask the one and only God to guide you.
Deuteronomy 33:27 The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms. In his arms you will find the strength to hold you, grace to sustain you and love to carry your through.
Take care,
Sherrie

prayers being added.

Its so hard to figure out who you are when surrounded by so many that identify themselves by what they do. I am a lawyer, a doctor, a nurse, a toll booth coin collector, a mother, a son, a husband kinda labels. When I was explaining this to my DS many years ago as he struggled to fit in with the high school crowd, I broke it down to some basics that I hope help you.

I told him that he is kind. He goes out of his way to make sure that his friends are comfortable, and would share his lunch if they had none, so he is generous. He has always been strong in his belief in God, so he is spiritual, and thoughtful with his reading of the bible and how to apply it to life. These are all ways in which to describe himself in which it doesnt rely on traditional labels that dont really provide answers.

Are you on time for your appointments? then you are punctual.
Do you think of sharing your stuff or allowing other access to it? then its generous
Do you have a deeper belief in God? then you can be spiritual.
Do you walk, or get out of the house and stay "active"?
If you like just hanging around your home, and doing quiet things then you are more of a "laid back" person.

Try to think of your life in terms of YOUR actions. Not just traditional labels such as boy/girl son/daughter lawyer/cashier type labels. Are you a good friend? Can you be trusted with secrets? Being trustworthy is a good label.

I hope that helps. it helped my son when he was struggling to figure out who he was, and what his value to this life is. He learned that he is a generous young man, who can be trusted by his friends, and family, and is punctual, and reliable. Just those few descriptors helped him see himself as much more valueable than he felt he was.

Prayers and good thoughts headed your way.
I can't recall if you've mentioned this before, but are you seeing a therapist or can you get to one?
I do remember that you like Louise Hay. Her affirmations can be very calming during difficult times. You might want to look into purchasing some of her CDs to listen to during stressful moments.
Gently put one foot in front of the other...set your sights a few worthwhile, positive goals.
A few ideas come to mind...
1. Simply asking your Higher Power to help you find your way.
2. Saying affirmations about this...even if it seems awkward at first. For example, "I am someone who clearly knows herself and where she is going."
3. Seeing a therapist who might help you on this journey.
4. Looking for books or tapes that might help you as well.
I very much like what the above poster mentioned. I certainly might help to list your positive attributes and/or strengths.
Wishing you wisdom, peace, hope and joy.
