Rhodiola Rosea - new supplement to help brain injuries

Hey group,

I found a new (well, new to me at least) supplement/drug that my doctor recommened to me, and I thought I would share with ya'll. It's called Rhodiola Rosea, and It is a plant that is grows at altitude in cold and harsh places. It has been used in Russia and Eastern Europe for years to help them cope with the harsh winters. It is mainly used to help people cope with stress. Check it out.

Hello, thanks for mentioning Rhodiola rosea here. It's not exactly new, as you discovered. It's been around for about 2000 years, but for me I've used it now for about six or eight years. Anyway, good stuff. It may be of interest to people on this site to know that it's being studied now at a major university in California, so we should be hearing a lot more about it soon. There are a bunch of good ones out there, but they are hard to find because there are SO MANY lousy brands. Even though this is a still-unknown herb, there are dozens of inexpensive brands that just don't do anything, primarily in stores. Try brands like Verde Botanica, or Swedish Herbal Institute, or products like Mind Body & Spirit, or even Energy Reserves. These are all good. Avoid anything made by a vitamin manufacturer, because they don't know how to deal with the herb -- it's very "finicky" as one herbalist told me.

You'll want to keep it away from humidity, and from heat. The herb will die fast if you leave your bottle of pills in the bathroom where you shower. Keep 'em dry and fresh and you'll LOVE this herb.
