Back to work, cautiously optimistic

I am 7 months post-concussion, and the doctor cleared me to go back to work, just half-days for now (I teach high school). I haven't had any students yet but have driven to work and attended a couple of meetings.

So far, so good. It still remains to be seen how I'll do with a lot of students around, but it at least seems like a possibility now.

My headaches are decreasing in both frequency and intensity. I have started taking acetyl-l-carnitine (500 mg) daily in addition to the B-complex and 900 mg algal DHA I've been on. I might be imagining things, but it seems to be helping quite a bit. I'm still on amitriptyline as well, but will be glad to get off it as it makes me very sleepy. Of course, the extra rest may be good for my brain, too, I suppose.

Just wanted to check in. It finally seems like there's light at the end of the tunnel, so hang in there!! It does get better.
