Anyone with SCS and warfarin/coumadin issues?

History of DVT's in popliteal vein lead to surgery and a Dr mistakenly sutured through a few nerves leaving incredible pain. Nerves have been released but only partially recovered. Transforaminal block did nothing - now looking at an implant for pain.

Have been anti-coag therapy for about 10 years. Take platel, warfarin, and asa.

Hello ejackson!

Hello and Welcome!

I'm sorry for the reason you are here however. It sounds very painful. I wish I were more knowledged in what you are facing. We've got a great crew here at Neurotalk and hopefully someone will be able to give you some good feedback.

Have you had the trial implant done yet?
I'm trying to imagine the pain you are in. The nerve pain (peripheral neuropathy/CRPS) that I battle is no picnic by all means, but what you describe sounds even worse.
My SCS does wonders for the burning pain in my legs and lower back. I can only hope that you are on your way to getting better pain management so you can get your quality of life back.

Please stick around and let us know how this goes for you.
Perhaps we can all help each other gain a better understanding of what this is all about.

It's great to have you here!

Caring,
Rae

SCS and Coumadin

No, haven't had the trial yet as the vascular Dr has to clear the risks of the bleeding/clotting and they want to try one more block lower in the leg. See him this Friday and then the block is late this month, expecting by the time all is good to go the implant will be mid-Oct.
