Blood tests make me wonder

I have held onto some old blood tests from my early PN days that are off, but my GP has dismissed thm numerous times. I was wondering if they may signify anything.

Biochemistry & Bloods

Low Bicarbonate
Low Bun
Low Creatinine

Low Ferritin
Low Iron
Low MCH
Low MCV
High RDW

High ESR

Once even low Albumin a few months later, but repaeted tests and Albumin was fine so I don't know if it was an error.

I have looked up what I could and it talks about starvation, malnutrtion such as with Celiac or Chrohns.

These tests are now all normal with the exception of low serum creatinine which is always on the lowish side.

I have had 3 -24 hour urine clearance etsts and kidneys work fine. Can someone who knows bloodtests lead me in the right direction as what this cluster of findings may possibly signify?

Thank you

Well--

--if they are mostly fine now . . . or in your most recent testing . . .

There are a million things that can make blood test values go out of range temporarily. Infection, electrolyte imbalance, on and on and on.

I don't know, also, if there's enough there to really get a clue on what may have been happenig at the time, although the elevated ESR would indicate some inflammation (hardly surprising). The others point to some imbalance in the kidney/liver function, which may also explain the iron problems . . .

This would not be unexpected if, as we suspect, you had an inflammatory autoimmune reaction after a pathogen, especially if there was a gut inflammation, causing at least temporary malabsorption or overexcretion of nutrients.

Thanks Glen

I keep getting the "malabsorbtion & malnutrition". Yes I did have the H.pylori infection for a long time too. Most all these bloods were taken in the beginning when I was also put on 4 different drugs. Neurontin,Voltaren,Tryciclic, &Morphine.

But I am also noticing that I don't feel very good after a heavy glutening, and I am trying to find a connection.

The tests are normal now except ESR,Ferritin,& Creatinine. I am thinking of trying Gluten free, but I am not sure how I am going to swing it.
