Alan just got his new off loading shoes

Hi All.

I thought I'd share this with you all. Alan has not had any luck with shoes, Whether they are the $700 custom molded shoes with $400 orthotics or any other kind of shoe, his ulcer is still there.

Well, we had attended the last meeting of the neuropathy support group and the lady had these amazing shoes on and they were Darko Off Loading shoes. She passed them around and I was floored. I said to Alan "you are getting these". They came today. We will bring them to his podiatrist and he will do the off loading thing and the Alan will get to wear them. He did try them on today and I made a video. I start with showing you the expensive pair of custom molded shoes and then I show you the Darko off loading ones. (I actually think these just might do the trick)

Will update.

Very interesting....

Where did you get these? I am looking online and see
prices vary from $41/pair to $129/pair!

Thanks for the video.

First hi hope you are well. I thought you disappeared from the boards for awhile though I have been sometimes too.
My gramps for his neuropathy has these special shoe they remind me of the ones in your video that are open but his are closed. The soles are super thick and the shoe is almost like a rectangle box. I guess it helps with balance. To me it looks like it would make me fall. They were $ but I think his insurance paid.
Hope his new shoes help

HI there.

We shall see. In the video, he only walked a few steps but outside he will have his rollator walker.

I'll update when the shoes are done by his doctor.

Take care

This is a video to show what the podiatrist did to off load Alan's new shoes.

He did a great job. Alan was walking on air after this.
