Debilitating exhaustion

I was recently diagnosed with low B12. I have started taking daily pills for now but they are not combatting the exhaustion. When it washes over me I feel physically ill. Anyone know how long before this side effect is overcome?

Hi, I am a new member and was just checking the site when I came across your situation. I had low levels of B-12 several years ago. It takes 5 years for you to deplete your B-12 storage levels, so it will probably take you a while to get them back up. I took 1000 mcg daily disolved under my tongue. At the same time I went to chiro and had accupunture. I would say it took me about 5 months to start feeling like myself again. My husband said he noticed an immediate change when I started taking the B-12. I hope this helps.

Welcome.

The response varies tremendously, depending on personal makeup and extent as well as type of damage.

In fact, some even experience the most debilitating fatigue as the body works hard on repairs sometime after getting substantial B12 into stores.

Lots of discussion on the vitamin and peripheral neuropathy (even though it is the central nervous system that is the big worry with B12 deficiency) forums. See you there.
