Dementia, or not?
The National Institute on Aging tells us:
Some conditions may mimic dementia, but are actually reversible conditions. Reversible conditions with symptoms of dementia can be caused by a high fever, dehydration, vitamin deficiency and poor nutrition, bad reactions to medicines, problems with the thyroid gland, or a minor head injury. Medical conditions like these can be serious and should be treated by a doctor as soon as possible. http://psychcentral.com/lib/what-is-dementia/000195Dementia is by caused by changes in brain function. It takes a professional to tell us if we have dementia or a mimic. Seeing a professional might provide us with good news -- our symptoms are treatable and might be reversed. |

Could these reversible conditions also cause cerebral hypoperfusion of the frontal and temporal regions of the brain, that is two standard deviations below normal? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
