I freaked out at work & missed neurologist apt.

Hi,

1. Work meeting turned into a train wreck.
As a result, I quit one of my administrative roles. This is a good thing.

2. I got to the neurologist late and missed the mdoc entirely because she left for the hospital.

Her office person was in a rush and kept repeating call back instructions with times to me.
I told her politely and calmly that I had had a stroke and some other cognitive problems. I asked her to write down what she just said. She repeated it orally a few times.

I reminded her that I was in a Neurology building (HELLO!!) and that I needed a little consideration with my memory skills by asking that the call back instructions be written.

She stopped whatever else she was doing and wrote down the times to call.

I'm going to take some klonopin, try to straighten out med mess with my pdoc, and watch tv.
I need more than 4 hours of sleep at night.

Good job on quiting one of the administrative jobs. I hope that you can
start getting some more sleep at night.

I hope you also get your meds straightened out.

pdoc is a moron: Pristiq???

Hi,

Pdoc's secretary called me. The office wanted to call in Pristiq.

Hello! It's a new drug!!!
It's in the same class as Effexor. Give me the Effexor.
My insurance company wants to pay for generics right now.http://bestsmileys.com/money/2.gif

I canceled work for Thursday AM to see him in his office.

Hi Mari

Pristiq is actually the active metabolite of Effexor... equally effective and longer half-life (dosing easier), lower side effects... your doc is trying to get you the "good stuff" ;) but yes, insurance may have trouble with it. i hope your pdoc can help you fast, either by getting approval from insurance for you, or by scripting Effexor.

i'm sorry your appointments got messed up today. today was not a good day for me either. let's hope for an improvement tomorrow.

congratulations though, on ditching one of the admin roles that have been bothering you. i hope your work days will be more manageable because of it.

good luck with the sleep.

sending hugs... :hug::hug::hug:

I think I told my boss to leave our meeting

Hi,

I've had 4 hours of sleep every night for a week.

I had scheduled and was running a meeting.
My boss was there.
She was being difficult.
I told her "to leave."
She stayed anyway.
I stuck to my agenda.
Things got worse.

(I have no memory of saying those words that way.

Colleague told me later that is what I said.
After the meeting, I called the big boss. Big boss is going to look for someone new to take on my responsibilities.

Wow, that must have been a hard meeting.
I am hoping that your big boss will find someone soon to help you!

Mari

It sounds like the co-worker is helping keep you aware of what you
said.

Its to bad this boss is being like that. I'm glad you have a better
big boss.

Good luck.

I'm sorry you're having a hard time right now, Mari...

I don't know why or in what way your boss was being difficult, but it must have been frustrating since it was your meeting and you've been running on inadequate sleep. Maybe telling her to leave was a faux pau, but you owned it by calling the big boss, and the end result (reduction of responsibilities) seems worth it to me.

You probably can get the new med approved by insurance, but that doesn't mean you'll get it any cheaper.
Unless you've had issues with effexor, I'd push to try it first. JMHO

Hi,

I feel very good tonight after my 1.5 hr nap.

A huge weight has been lifted off me.
Speaking up in that meeting was a good idea.
