My July Treats

Since I have diabetes now...

Breyer's makes a great sugar free ice cream - tastes better than regular!

Sugar free Pepperidge Farm are great to dip in skim milk.

Sugar free Murray's makes those great shortbread cookies that are also great to dip - my mom & grandmother used to dip these in coffee.

I am crazy for fresh cherries right now, but I'm not sure if they are allowed.

Does anyone have ANY SUGAR FREE suggestions because I LOVE chocolate and I'm going to die without it...

Tamara,
Hersheys has some really good sugar free chocolate. My Uncle is diabetic and he is a chocolate lover too.. Also when you bake use splenda it's great in pies, cakes anything that calls for sugar..

Hey everyone! I agree, splenda is good stuff! Enjoy this oreo cookie-rimmed ice cream glass!

I'm doing OK for now...coming out of the weather system time of year so doing better. (but always expecting the other shoe to drop) An old friend has come back into my life and he has been just what I needed to get past my limitations and bad self-esteem. He and a friend with cancer play music and I was privelidged to be able to assist them with their CD cover and audio setup for duplication. I did it as I felt good... teeny bits at a time. The finished product should be in our hands in a week or so. :D

I had a BAD experience with my GP last week: too busy and unwilling to fill out my records and an assessment for my SSD Atty. "I am only allowed to spend 15min with you" and "I'm not trained to complete these forms". B. F'n S.! she filled out 1/2 of it, RUSHED me thru my symptoms and made me cry!!! offered to reffer me to Neuro, Ortho and PT (all of which I've been to already and have been rejected as too complicated). Thanks for nothing. :(

prayers for everyone here!:grouphug:

Hi everyone; It's strawberry season here. How about strawberry shortcake with lots of whipped cream.

Jomar 07-05-2007 11:27 AM

Anne , is there another dr in the office that might be able to help with this paperwork - or they should be able to schedule for an extended appt??
or
maybe take some printed web resource pages that will help her do the paperwork the best way??

nothing is simple is it:(

Anne- you know, my neuro is basically my GP these days....my GP has no f'ing clue what to make of me. I go there only when I know i want specific blood tests or screenings because the copay is lower. Another person i know was once suggested to use a rheumy or an endocrinologist as GP, since they were good at coordinating the lives/care of more complicated patients....just a thought.

Johanna

PS, minty minty choccy chippy.....mmmmmmmmmmmmmm i am pretty sure breyers makes a sugar free version of that. Add real mint leaves for pep and vigor...! (i grow my mint in a little garden surrounded by coco bean mulch :))

PPS, I am here and survivng. me and the new PT are going to have a chat today about being more gentle with me, as the truck that ran me over at my last visit just keeps rollong back and forth over top of me.

PPS, SOrry I have been so absent...trying really hard to take less pain meds which means the computer is setting me off faster and faster. I have also scheduled my summer vacation to St Johns Medical Center....surgery for right side will be July 23, my mommy's plane tix purchased and hospital "reservations" made.

So I have been busy trying to get ready for that, sorry not to be around much....i miss you all :)
