Cyst after Wisdom tooth extraction

Last year after having wisdom tooth extracted a lump developed on the roof of my mouth as well as a small cyst on the side of my gum (not actually near where my wisdom tooth was) but I never really took much notice of it as it didn't cause me any pain or discomfort

Over the weekend I began getting a bad smelling / tasting odour in my mouth which I believe is from the lump on the roof my mouth. I have popped the cyst on a few occasions but it keeps comming back

I plan on getting it checked out this week however I need to know if this sounds like something serious, possible oral cancer etc.

From what i read cancer doesn't hurt. Sounds like a recurring infection. Dentist's can screen for oral cancer, i would have the dentist check it out. A good dentist if you got one.

Hi Robbie,

It is imperative that you have the site evaluated by an oral surgeon, not a general dentist. It is not wise to pop the cyst yourself. No one can tell you exactly what it is without seeing it. So hopefully you have an appointment with the oral surgeon.
