Body Spasms

Hi all I have a question that I hope someone can answer.

Has anyone ever had like a full body spasm?

I had a doozy last night. It completely took all my energy with it. I am still in bed tonight.

All my muscles tightened up that took me right to the floor. almost like a seizure but i was fully aware.

my legs and arms tightened up and i felt totally crippled. Even my jaw locked up. It lasted about 7 or 8 minutes but it felt alot longer than that, Once I slowed my breathing and tried to relax the pain and stiffness started to settle down.

once it was over, with help from dh i was able to walk to bed but balance was off and i felt really foggy.

This is about the 5th time this has happened in the last 7 or 8
months.

What do you guys think?

Nothing like this has ever happened to me. I would get checked out by a doctor if it happened to me, especially multiple times.

Scary.

Heckuva way to bring in the new year, Bannet.

Do mention it to your doc -- sounds very frightening!

I will have moments that I feel my whole body tense up, and I wonder if it will stop. it normally does long before I reach the lock up phase. Somedays I feel clenched down, and locked up. I find that muscle relaxers help.

I hope you feel better.

The only times that happened to me, was an anxiety attack. As soon as I relaxed, it stopped. When the Doc put me on Buspar, then Paxil, they stopped. Haven't had one since.

Wow I'm thinking MS never thought of a panic attack. hmmm interesting. I always feel under control or at least close to it;) have had lots of stress in the past few months. Thanks for the insight. i will talk to the doc.:)

Hi Beth! I've had them. I don't get them that often and they always happen during the night from the jaw/neck down to the toes. Once the rock hard stiffening eases up, it is sore and takes a while for everything to relax enough to go back to sleep. I sometimes will take another Neurontin when this happens and it seems to help.

I hope you are feeling better. You definitely are not alone on this one.
