neuropathy like pain, that come for 18hr then not for 6 months

My name is Randi and I am sitting in the hosptial next to my husband in desperate need to figure out what is going on with him. My husband has weird symptoms where he has this painful sensation in his right shoulder and head area that the only way he can make this sensation stop is to itch/rub the area, until he feels this electric like jolt then it will stop and then return about 16 seconds later. This will last for `18-24 hours. He has had four episodes over the past 5 years that required him to go to the ER. He has had spinal taps, ruled out MS, he has had MRI's of the brain and neck. In feb the mri of the neck showed a tumor in the cervical area (no MRI of spine was done before this) , but the funny thing is 2 neurologist and two neuro surgeons do not think this is related to symptoms and was only found incidently. We are so frustrated because it seems like the Dr just want to
give him medication (Benadryl, ativan and solumedrol) but not find the cause of this. They are planning to do an EEG tomorrow but don't know what good that will do since he is no longer having the symptoms. Sooooo as you can imagine we are frustrated and hoping maybe someone out there may have run into these symptoms. Would appreceate any information.

So they don't think anything of this tumor that showed up?

You might get a copy of those films and take to a few expert & experienced chiropractors for evaluations..???

This problem just appeared out of nowhere?
any hits, falls, sports car accidents that might be causing a pinched nerve - on & off??

here's a spine chart that shows the areas affected on the body -

if you increase your view size it's easier to read.

Where is the tumor located on his c spine?

THanks,
There has been no injury of any common denominator when he has these
symptoms. We have seen 2 neuro surgeons, one said the tumor was an astrocytomia, the neurosurgeon that he sent us to said it is not.

the location of the tumor is important. if it is pressing on certain sensory pathways, it could aggravate these cells and cause "neuropathic" pain. i doubt the eeg will yield any info, but good luck.
