Julie & Julia

It won't even be released until August 7, but I'm anxious to see Meryl Streep step into the shoes of Julia Child. What a trip that will be!

The ad is short, but they said that it's based on two true stories, Julie: a bored secretary who decides to make all of Julia Child's recipes in one year, and Julia: housewife gone chef gone international celebrity.

I'm kind of looking forward to seeing it, I don't know anything about Julia Child's rise to fame but I remember imitating her as a child, myself. ;)

She is awesome. Wait until you find out what she did in the war. :D

This lady was not a just a wonderful cook.

I wish they didn't use such a tacky picture...

I really want to see this too... I can't wait to see how it was done...

Julia Child had a fascinating life. :) She cooked with real butter all along and lived to a ripe old age too. I used to crack up when she'd keep nipping at the wine while cooking on her show. :D They used to do skits about her on SNL that were hilarious. I'll watch this when it comes to network TV. :o

Litara and I rented this movie recently, and I cannot recommend it enough!! I am very interested in learning how to cook "nice, proper and filling meals" for her, but I am always so concerned about ruining dishes, or having them turn out badly--or worse, having a tic and messing it up completely because of my TS.

After seeing this movie, I wanted to do everything about cooking! I realized that trial and error are the only way to learn. I am looking into a few "domestic" cook books...And not just was this movie inspirational, but just adorable and cute as heck! I laughed so much, it was adorable! (The way the shown Julia as "tall" was stupendous--Meryl Streep is actually VERY short! :winky:)

I loved it, too. Meryl Streep blew my mind over and over again, half the time, she didn't even seem like an actress playing the part.

Meryl Streep is an Actor's Actor...Simply the best.
