Pleasant surprise with Wellbutrin.

My doctor added Wellbutrin to my medications because I was having problems with depression. Within a couple of days a very persistent (years long) and very severe nerve pain down the outside of my right leg just disappeared! I was on fentanyl, methadone, Gabapentin, and oxycodone and still the pain was so severe it was hard to use that leg normally. It's been two months now on the Wellbutrin and the pain has not returned. I've quit methadone and am in the process of tapering off the fentanyl. It's been many years since I had anything positive to say so I wanted to share :)

Wow, that's AMAZING! Shows you how depression and pain are so tightly interwoven. I just gave Wellbutrin a try and sadly it didn't have that effect :(

So far, so good

My Doctor changed me from Prozac to Wellbutrin, partly because I didn't feel prozac was helping me, and also to help me lose the weight I gained taking Lyrica (wow...works great!) I haven't had a big pain change, but am happier on Wellbutrin absolutely. I had a dreadful time stopping lyrica, took months of tapering. Stupid me, I switched from Prozac to Wellbutrin with no taper (I thought that they were similar). I thought my lyrica withdrawal symptoms had come back, but doing some reading realized that it was stopping Prozac after four years cold turkey. Not anywhere near as bad as lyrica, but still an issue, so I'm now doing short taper off prozac. Once again, my fault for not doing the research myself before taking action.

Puffy/fat face with wellbutrin?

Hi,

I think for the most part Wellbutrin is having a positive side effect.

The only bad thing eve since going onto WB is my face has been gaining weight. I've got folds now near my mouth (jowls almost!)

Was wondering if anyone else has had this odd side effect? I read that WB can cause water retention in the face? Not sure what I should do.

Please advise!!
