Hello,
Have a friend with dementia, possibley alzheimers, according to doctors. What suggestions do you wise folks have/ TIA |
Omega-3's seem to be reported helpful in Alzheimer's the most often.
Also B12... use methyl form only. |
As mrsD wrote, omega-3 fatty acids are looking promising and there is some evidence that Vitamin E and possibly Vitamin C are as well.
This summary might help you to advise your friend; http://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/466037 . |
So few are aware of this powerful OPC (grape seed extract). One can google just about every health issue and grape seed extract and come up with some positive comments.
I'm going into my 21st year on this OPC and as I said many yrs ago, I believe everyone could benefit for so many reasons...from allergies to cancer(s) and everything in between. https://nccih.nih.gov/research/resul...ght/062408.htm Cleaning the blood and improving bodywide circulation. |
Just happened to hear Dr. Nathan Rabb on my radio and a person called in about prevention for alzheimers...Dr. Rabb went to Coconut Oil and there are many sites on this food oil on this health issue. I use CO for everything, even add it to my morning coffee.

A recent review examined how convincing the evidence is for the efficacy of various Complementary and Alternative Medicine procedures in late-life mood and cognitive disorders, including Alzheimer's Disease (AD).
In the specific example of coconut oil it concluded that: "Therefore, the use of coconut oil is not recommended for those suffering from AD due to a risk benefit ratio in which the potential benefit does not outweigh the risks of the intervention." http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4110105/ |
I would certainly consider Dr. Newport's story.

A random control clinical trial assessing the possible benefits of coconut oil for AD is underway; https://www.nia.nih.gov/alzheimers/c...eimers-disease.
Its results are expected to be released in mid-2017; https://www.alzheimers.org.uk/site/s...1&pageNumber=4. These results should show whether or not the possible benefits of coconut oil outweigh its possible risks. |
I just read this blog and all the reviews up to today's year. I know if I had a loved one in this condition, that person would be taking CO. I use it thru the day, make my own Toothpaste and never need a dentist. So many drugs do more damage and pharma doesn't want to lose their position in their industry. More natural remedies can help and I know even for myself with grape seed extract, I have not used a drug in going on 21 yrs..so pharma lost that business from me.
http://parkinsonsand5htp.blogspot.co...ad-update.html Last night I heard Dr. Earl Mindell on my "go to sleep" radio show, and he was on the panel back in 1995 when I found pycnogenol where we were told this OPC may prevent cancer(s). In closing Dr. Mindell said to George Neoury, you know what the MD after the doctor's name means? He said More Drugs. These are all my opinions and take what you wish and leave the rest etc etc. C |
Just saw a segment on 60 Minutes on advancing alzheimers and the need for drugs. Why don't both worlds talk to each other and MAYBE come up with a cure. A reduction in the amyloid plaques in the brain. Do they really want to find cures?
Consumption of grape seed extract prevents amyloid-beta deposition and attenuates inflammation in brain of an Alzheimer's disease mouse. - PubMed - NCBI OPC's are keeping me healthy, mind, body and soul. |
