Karen Kain mother of a unique child

HI,
I am looking for anyone who is on the Keto Cal g-tube diet to help control seizures. My daughter is 14 and on the diet for 2 weeks. She is very lethargic but, she is not having seizures. She is now on 1 liter of oxygen for the first time in 10 years. She is going thru puberty????? Does anyone have similar experiences or any advice. The dietician is out til Monday. I think my first step would be to try going to a 3 to 1 ratio (we are on 4 to 1). Any one with similar experiences. Not too sure it is worth it. Before the diet too many seizures and a year of being lethargic. Thanks. You can visit our website, lorrinsworld.com

Hello Karen and welcome to Neuro Talk, here is a link to the epilepsy forum, you can post the keto ? there and get better results, and do not hesitate on asking, folks here are great, helpful and kind,

http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/forum11.html

the keto Diet was just coming out when my son was having seizures, he had activity on both hemispheres and the diet did help and I somehow got lucky well actually my son did he grew out of the epilepsy, the neuro said sometimes it happens, I have talked to others who liked the Keto diet, about the G-tube, i can say I have not hear of anyone on G tube and keto, hopefully you can find some good answers here and or you will be guiding on what and or where to go for more info, I pray and wish you the best of luck with your Child:hug:

Karen I can not remember if my son was lethargic or not, sorry, but it was shortly after Puberty he stopped having seizures, fingers crossed for you and your little one

Hello Karen:

Please allow me to extend my heartiest warm wishes and big WELCOME !! to you.

Glad you found us.

We're a nice bunch of friendly people.

I went to your website and then I went on youtube and found the videos. Your daughter is so lucky to have found those friends. They seem like very nice young women.

They have hearts, which is rare in young people today.

And you daughter looked very pretty in her red dress.

You have my admiration, from one mom to another.

Bless you and your daughter.

Melody

Hello Karen!
I went to your website. Reading through your story I felt goosebumps. It was like the feeling that we get when we watch a movie that stirs up our emotions so very much that we weep. It does not mean I was crying out of sadness however I could not help but feel sad for you and Lorrin at first...rather..it stirred up feelings of joy for you and for Lorrin. Lorrin is so lucky to have a momma like you , Karen and you are so lucky to have Lorrin! It is so nice to see how completely the two of you enjoy life and make the absolute most out of it.
I wish you both all of lifes best things..although I think you already have them!! God Bless you both:hug:
