Internal Organs Effected by RSD question???

I am interested in your experience/input, concerning any internal organs that are effected by RSD.

What are the symptoms that the internal organs have been compromised by RSD?

when i noticed that internal organs were involved were
i started to have horrible pain in the bladder and pelvic regions. and they only thing they could say was wrong was interstitial cystitis but would only say chronic pelvic pain.
then i have the tacky cardia with my heart. which i also get horrible chest pains with. but no agnia or things like that stress test is normal. just the rapid heart beat. resting my HR is 130-150 bpm with meds.
i also have kidney problems with gettin infections alot. problems with burning in my stomach almost like a heart burn feeling but no actual heart burn. i got asthma all of a sudden after i got DX with RSD.

and come to find out in the last years or so my bladder has frozen basicly .. like i have to push to pee everytime. and was told that i dont have bladder contractions

.. the way my docs think that it went internal was with the first c section that i had with my oldest because this is when all the bladder and pelvic pain started. then the kidneys were next .

but you can just have pain in the orgnas or disfunction .. it depends on the severity per person

hope that this answers your questions

Carrie---
Very interesting you mention IC (interstitial cystitis) and pelvic pain. I have both as those as well and the IC really flared after my pelvic surgery, that the RSD/CRPS was caused by (the RSD in my tummy was triggered by the pelvic surgery). Have you found any relation or connction between your IC/Pelvic pain and your RSD/CRPS ?

(Btw-- I also have Tachycardia w/ no other heart symptoms)

Hey Dew,

Keep in mind we all are affected differently.

Like Carrie I also have bladder and pelvic pain. I went to a urologist and my bladder out put is good he ran a couple other test and the organs structure is fine. I have most of my pain, and it is awful, in the early morning. Of course, when I am trying to sleep.

My heart like Carries beats at a very high rate. When I had my first episode it was 300 beats per minute resting. I went to the ER thinking I was having a heart attack. I take atenenol and it can still get up in the 130 range resting. When my pain is elevated it will beat faster than normal. I have a cardio work up once a year the heart is fine it's the messages between the nerves (that help the heart function) and brain that aren't working properly.

My lungs. I have had a breathing test and the structure of my lungs are fine. Just like the heart it's a communication problem between the nerves of the lungs and my brain. It is very hard for me to catch my breath, it's like I am suffocating. For example when I swim I can no longer put my face in the water at all or when I wash my face and hold my breath to rinse my face. I have to take several deep cleansing breaths and then I can hold my breath to rinse my face. When I cry it's hard to catch my breath. It's like I'm going to hyperventalate. Thoughout, the day I will catch myslelf having to take deep breaths. Sometimes I have to stop and really concentrate on the quality of my breathing and tell myslelf I'm not suffocating. This causes a lot of sharp stabbing pains between my shoulder bladdes and sometimes sharp chest pains. It took another trip to the ER to figure out it was my RSD interferring with my lungs.

When our pain is elevated it causes our anxiety levels to rise. Anxiety normally causes the heart rate to go up and our breathing pattern to change. So to keep my anxiety level down I take ativan twice a day .5 mg at a time.

I hope this helps. If you have any concerns about pain and your organs talk with you docotor. I see a urologist, cardiologist and a respiratory specalist it addition to the others that help me manage my health.
Take care,
Sherrie

sherrie and L2L

yes i have been told that there is a correlation between the IC/pelvic pain with RSD. as there are others on here that have the same things. mine goes one step further. with the IC i have developed problems with the kidneys. with infection and stones etc. i have done mutli treatments for the IC pain with blocks for the bladder with maricaine and heprion which helps with the ulcers that i have in the bladder. and helps with the pain. and funny thing we got on this. this past dec i thought that i was having horrible flare of the IC and low and behold it was my appendix almost rupturing wont do that again LOL. i do have actually issues with the bladder its self. and have done pelvic floor thearpy and it does help but then it started to make my rsd flare so i have stoped for awhile

on to heart and lungs. I have ventricular tackycardia . like you sherrie i have to take meds and me checked every couple of months to adjust meds. i take metapropol for the heart.

on to the lungs i was DX with asthma within 1 year of having RSD . mind you before this i was a huge athlete i ran track competed in gymnastics and was a ballernia from 2 on .. so i never had problems ever till RSD.

my PM neuro and a research doc are acutally doing a study on how RSD effects the body as we speak . to see what all it can envoke
