Walking
 
I've been dealing with PCS for about 11 months now and believe it's gotten slightly better over the course of last year.

But even though I'm still having mild headaches from time to time and problems with my eyes. Every time I read for an extended period of time I feel my eyes getting really exhausted and have to take a break. I don't get headaches or anything like that it's just that my eyes can't really focus any more. I have also noticed that my eyes are worse when my neck is really tight... That makes me wonder if all my remaining problems are neck related rather than brain related.

Another thing I've been trying to figure out is why I get dizzy when I walk for more than 10 minutes. Whether I walk slowly or not I get dizzy and feel a little bit out of it. After 15 minutes it's all good again. I haven't tried running since I'm afraid of impacting my brain and causing some kind of injury... Do you think this could happen?

Well I guess my question in general is if all my problems are neck related and if so what I can do for that. Also any tips on how to overcome anxiety?

Edit: I don't have any problems concentrating or studying for a test/exam. I also feel fine during it and have gotten very good grades in school lately, even better than before my concussion. Could it really be the neck? Or maybe it's all just in my head and I would be fine if I weren't thinking about it constantly?

It sounds like you are at a good point. You sound less anxious. Now, it will help if you change your perspective and just move on without being concerned about your mild symptoms. Taking a break while reading will still be good. I have the same reading problem and know that a short break for my eyes will do wonders. I just accept it as the way things are.

Accepting your current recovery condition so you can stop focusing on these minor symptoms will help you resolve your anxiety. Maybe a thought of "I'm good enough. I'm just going to move on with my life." will help. It sounds like you are getting the things done at school that you need to get done. If you still have a minor setback, just shake it off and continue.

You likely have learned to moderate your life a bit. That will be a skill that will be valuable for the rest of your life.

Running may cause some fatigue like setback but not an injury. You can try running with ear plugs so you can hear your foot plant. This way, you can learn a softer gait and what shoes have the best resilience.

I have had momentary dizziness for over a decade. I have just learned to stop for a moment and let it pass. Almost every time I get up from my recliner, I need to stop and let things settle. No big deal. It takes seconds to resolve. If I continue without taking those few seconds, the dizziness will last.

So, Life doesn't suck. You can move on.

I used to have trouble waking any distance early after my accident, I used to get to a point where I couldn't move my feet which was weird and scary. Like you I used to get lightheaded too. I had to stop and rest for 30 mins. Maybe the concussion restricts the normal blood flow around the head? Who knows, I gradually built up my walking distance so I'm sure it will eventually go for you too. Now I can walk the same as before my accident - which incidentally was head butting a door!

Interesting, I forgot about this!

How is your gate? Where is your head,and eyes?

I was all slumped over and stared at the ground....

After I learned to walk upright it helped ....

That dizziness lasted 3 years for me I bet?
