myoclonus ?
 

Anyone here ever have myoclonic jerks? If so, are you taking any meds for it? I've been having them for several months. They kind of started around the same time I was dxd with the following -
"at C5-C6 - broad-based left lateral diac protrusion and osteophyte formation with left-sided uncovertebral degenerative spurring--resulting in mid left canal stenosis with moderate to severe left foraminal narrowing; possible C6 nerve root compression; at C6-C7 - mild to moderate right lateral disc protrusion and tiny endplate osteophyte formation; moderate right foraminal narrowing; left lateral disc protrusion and osteophyte formation at C5-C6 with left canal stenosis and severe left foraminal narrowing and probable compression of the exiting left C6 nerve root within the foramen; right lateral disc protrusion and osteophyte formation with moderate right foraminal narrowing and possible compression of the exiting left C7 nerve root within the foramen."
Yeh, my neck is pretty messed up. Will need surgery to correct. Many thanks.

Yes, we have these, they range from jerks in the arms or legs to full body jerks, and can be very scary.

Interestingly, we were told by a resident at a famous PD research/teaching facility that "everyone has those", even the resident herself, she said she got them at night as she was falling asleep. She said they are very common and usually occur as we fall asleep and mean nothing. That made me feel better, but I dont' think everyone has the full-body jerk yourself awake thing. Ours seem to have gotten stronger, and involved more limbs, as we have progressed.

PD shares a number of symptoms with cervical problems:
- clumsy hands;
- "legs are often unsteady with a tendency to 'jump' at night";
- shuffling gait.
