Prevalence of PD, AD, ALS and ET in Families

Laura, not sure of whether this fits your line of enquiry, but anecdotally only I have heard of a few people who have PD and MS in their family. Wondered whether there was something connecting to too, and if you add the others on the list my guess it will be more than a few......

I have PD, ALZ, and MS in my family history: PD & MS on Mother's side, ALZ on Father's side.

At some conference a month or two ago, a PD researcher said that he was sure my PD was genetic even tho the genetic component isn't identified yet:

Three of us with PD and one with MS.

My grand mother had a PD type condition, not diagnosed. My cousin got MS at the same age that I was diagnosed with PD, our symptoms were initially fairly similar...... among other things shoulder and neck and mobility difficulties. She is in a wheelchair now, not taking medication because she couldn't cope with the side-effects.
