I am concerned...

I had epiplepsy when I was a young child at 4 or 5 years old and by the time I was in 5th grade or so, I was taken off medications thanks to a normal EEG report. I alaways state that I grew out of epilepsy. Now I am 33 years old and still so far no seizures. However, I have had two very vivid dreams in where I was experiencing a seizure and had saliva uncontrollably bubbling in my mouth and I could not breath out of my mouth and did not know what to do. I would feel this so vividly right before I actually could open my eyes and be aware of my surroundings. Also a feeling as though my tongue was swollen. I wake up from this dreamlike state wondering if it was a dream or if it was real. I only remeber one seizure that happened while I was asleep and I woke up with spit bubbles coming out of my mouth. I don't know If I am rehashing my past or If I may be suffering from seizures again. Can seizures happen again after such a long abstinence without them...Very concerned...Kristine

Hi, appy, welcome to NeuroTalk!

No one here is qualified to answer your question on a medical level (as far as I'm aware) but it might help you to ask the good folks for an opinion in the epilepsy forum:: http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/forumdisplay.php?f=11

Please go to the epilepsy forum and talk to some of the people.

But its possible for seizures to return at anytime.

Since honestly they really don't completely go away.
