Waking up with a headache

Two days out of the last few days, I've woken up with a throbbing type headache. It feels slight when i wake up but as soon as i start walking each step makes it throb worse. The throb happens with ever beat of my heart.

Things that helped:
Icing my neck and Meditation seems to help as the headache subsides and becomes a minor throbbing.

Is there a reason for these headaches upon waking up?

Maybe. It happened again today. I did buy a new pillow two days ago.
I kept waking up every hour or so. And one time I remember snorting when I woke up. Am I starting to get sleep apnea?

Years ago I had this also....on the rare nights I got good sleep I would wake with a cranking headache! It sucked...
My other strange part is if I had gotten good sleep during the day I would sleep better at night.....
None of it ever added up for me.....your not alone!

This keeps happening often. Could it be something to do with my neck?

My head always starts feeling odd/tingling/strange when i lie down on my back. And i'm usually sleeping on my back.

How much pillow head elevation do you use ?

I sleep with no head elevation for best sleep. It took some getting used to after sleeping with my head elevated.

Not much at all. Its a old flattened pillow. I feel the same sensation on my head even if i lie down on my back without a pillow at all.
