seizure alert dogs

Hi, I'm new to this site. can anybody help me my service dog is a sizure alert dog. I was told some state don't give this type of service dog any rights to be out in public is this true. Also I was told they had to have a seizure alert dog patch on also to be out in public. Please help and give me right information.

Welcome to Neurotalk Patty.

I'm not familiar with the rules regarding seizure alert dogs, but I bet some of the people at our Service and Support Animals forum are:

http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/forum83.html

There's even a Seizure Alert Dogs "Sticky" (useful sites) thread.

Seizure alert dogs

Hi Patty,

I am waiting for my dog right now. The dog is only 3 weeks old and they have to be 8 weeks old before they can be separated from their mother but I know there is a website by the company that sponsors them called Paws with a Cause that you can look at on the computer.

Hi Patty! I don't know much about your request, but I remember several yrs ago, that a young gal working in the office at the local hospital had a seizure alert service dog. Well, she lost her job when she got the dog, and boy.. did she go after the hosp.

They reinstated her job, gave her all her back pay and an office of her own. That's all I really know about the case, but I do remember seeing her at the hosp once and the dog was in a harness like a seeing eye service dog wears.

Glad to have you here with us at NeuroTalk and hope you take a look around and make yourself at home.
