anyone try zomig?

Anyone have any luck with this medicine? Its very expensive, around $525 for 9 pills.

I just took it for the first time, and within 2 hours it has taken the edge off my headaches quite a bit. They are still present, but they are not pounding right now, which is fantastic. Im not sure if its just pure genuine luck, or if its actually working. Im assuming it will tell me the more I take it.

Just curious if anyone has tried this, and what there results are.

:Hum: Are you taking the brand name or generic version? I'm seeing quite a range of prices online, many (in my best "Rainman" impression) about a hundred dollars for 3 pills. I'm also seeing many coupons for 75% off, and other discounts. Prices should continue to come down... Yup, another site I just saw says that generic versions can be gotten for ~$70 for 3 pills.

Glad your getting some relief—hope it continues and you can knock your migraines out early.

I have not tried Zomig/zolmitriptan, but I have very good results with rizatriptan (Maxalt)—also available generically.

OTOH, sumatriptan (Imitrex) doesn't work for me at all, which suggests to me that if one or two triptans don't work for someone, they shouldn't give up—still another triptan may work.

My own experience also tells me that (if triptans work for someone) the earlier you catch & begin treating a migraine with a triptan, the better/sooner it works, and the fewer doses will be required.

Taking the name brand I believe.

After 7 months of nonstead headaches from my concussion, that zomig gave me a few hours of relief. It was nice, but sadly after 4 hours or so the headaches came back.

Hopefully this leads the Dr on the correct path though.

Have you tried any of the other triptans with any success?

This is the only one ive been on. I did try imetrex (sumatriptan) but had an allergic reaction to it.

Ive taken the zomig 3 times now. 2 successful, one unsuccessful.

I had a wedding yesterday to go to, didnt want to go because all previous attempts since my head injury had not faired well.

So I took the zomig (minor headache at the time) an hour before the wedding. Hoping it would prevent the onslaught that the wedding would bring. Nope. My head was pounding a half hour into the wedding, had a seizure, head was hurting even more and I bailed out. Was useless all day (wedding was at a 1130 am, I was home and in bed by 130pm) because I couldnt get rid of the headache. Was hoping the zomig would help in that situation, but it did nothing.

Zomig has worked twice for me though, but both times I was home, and in a very quiet environment.

I have been on Zomig for about 6 years now. It is the only medication that helps me. I have tried all the other ones. I have just started botox injections to see if they help. So far nothing but they say to give it atleast 3 rounds. I would be in trouble if I did not have my Zomig. Hope it helps you.
