Since you didn't ask

My new avatar is really, Smoke-ster, short for Smokey Monster. He's one of the shar pei I tend too during the week, next door at my sisters. I put him up cuz I'm feeling Rrufff. :D

Dad had his hip replacement today, and it was one really long day at the hospital for me. He's doing great. Gotta love the morphine. Snow storm expected tonight. Kinda hope it keeps me home tomorrow so I can rest up. My back is just killing me.

Been trying to follow the wandering posts of this awesome group. I will be making an effort to keep in touch better. Sorry I missed the cruise, but it did cheer me up. When is the next one?

:) Hi Beth,

Smoke-ster looks great! I love dogs and what they can do for all of us.

Sorry to hear your so worn out but being there for your Dad is so important and yes, they are funny when they're on Morphine. The best part is they don't remember anything.

Take care of yourself and don't go out and shovel any snow.

Thanks, he's only temporary. but he's a cutie. Right Cindy? :D

Well, I'll have to ponder that. Ah, and idea! How about a trip down under? We could chase kangaroos. It's summer down there now and we could leave all this dreadfull snow and cold behind for a bit.

Thanks Sally.
Dad is doing well, I talked to him this morning. PT already had him walking the hall (3 doors) w/walker. They will be back this afternoon. He couldn't get comfy last night and was going to try and nap before lunch. His pain is still at 3-4 even though they are giving him pills and shots often.

We got about an inch of snow, but our streets not plowed. Dad gave me the day off from visiting. I think he's skerd I'llcrash his Caddy CTS. I already got paint on the side mirror when I backed into a gutter on the house. Besides he's says will be together 16 hrs a day when he is home.

I shoveled some snow for the mailman. Then I moved a bookcase (that was displaced to the office for the holidays) back to the living room. Not to worry I slid it on a rug into place. POC!

Going to take it easy the rest of the day. At least until late afternoon when I have to go let the pups out and play for a bit. Ah such a life! :D

 to All

I would tell Smokey, but he already has a big head. LOL

Yep drugs can be amusing for those around the taker. I did shovel a bit. I did both edges of the driveway and left snow in the middle. At least I'll know if I'm on concrete.

Hope your having a good day.

Hello Beth,
I'm glad to hear your Pop is doing well. It seems as this has been a good move for you. I'm glad you're "home". Smokester is adorable. :) He seems like a sweet pup.

All the best,
Chris

Thanks DM
I have started laundry already. I'd like to give the kitchen floor some much needed attention. We shall see.

It's sunny today so I'm hoping the snow will melt on its own. We have bunny tracks all over our driveway. Looks like he hopped up the driveway and did donuts in the back. Too cute.

I also plan to go get groceries since a icy cold front is due to hit us and I want to get some good stuff for Dad. I expect him to come home Thurs or Fri. He's already worried I won't have food for him. I've been searching for recipes and will be making chicken enchalada and something with pork any suggestions before I shop?

Not to worry I heated my back with my neck wrap repeatedly yesterday. It's feeling good. I also ordered a support thingie from Amazon. Not sure if it will work, but going to give it a shot. Especially since it seems walking is making it hurt. A girls gotta walk while she can. :D
