hi yall

I use to post here and at the old site but that was forever ago. I know I have not logged onto this site since Jan.

I guess since it is been so long ago I will reintroduce myself. My name is Karen, 30 and from MS. I have a boat load of spinal problems. I am trying to get down to a weight that will allow me to have a spinal fusion IF I can find a doctor willing to do it. They all say I need it but nobody wants to do it.
I am still caring for my mother in law who has alzhimers, we have been on and off hospice with her. I have a lady coming in five hours monday thru friday to help with her so that takes some of the physical load off me thankfully.

Ok I started this an hour ago it being Sunday I don't have help in and my mother in law had a messy morning. Guess my day will be laundry and shampooing carpet...wonder how many times you can shampoo your carpet before it become threadbare lol:wink: Sorry I have to laugh or I will go nuts on days like this.

Anyway about 3 weeks ago I started Medifast. I have lost 12lbs, not as much as I had hoped but at least the scale is moving. It is not as bad as I had thought it would be but yesterday was my sister's birthday party and it was hard.

I hope you all are doing ok and I look forward to catching up with all of you.
Karen

Understand that 12 lbs lost in 3 weeks is a lot and that you're likely to slow down soon. A healthy rate of weight loss in .5-2 lbs/week. I have wrestled with the same 3 lbs for about the past 3 months and lost 92.2 lbs at my highest rate of loss. It's been about 20 months. Losing weight is hard work no matter what program you do, and the more slowly you lose, the more likely you are to keep it off. Also, if you plan to keep it off, be prepared to keep doing what you do forever, which means you have to change your thinking about food if you're planning to keep the weight off, and that time to lose isn't important if you're doing it for the right reasons.

Good luck!

LIZARD :)
