That was beautiful. It brought tears to my eyes as well; but in a good way.

Wow... wouldn't it be WONDERFUL to travel around and share smiles and laughter through dance??!!??!!

:):)

It is very sad -- mostly the music -- and it was weird to see Mumbai in one of the early shots.

I stopped watching 20 seconds into it.

Mari, if you feel better and can get past the frames from Mumbai, it is really very beautiful. He is joined in his happy dance by groups of strangers in 42 different countries. I don't start choking up until he's dancing with the kids in Rwanda and the people in Ireland...

I visited Mumbai (Bombay) in 1996 for a few days, and so seeing that in the beginning gave me a bit of a jolt too... but the video is really much more than that...

Words to the Song in the Youtube clip

Hi,
OK, I tried again and got to the 2 minute mark this time.

Translated into English, it is not a sad song.
I'm curious why it sounds sad to me.

The song was written by a poet from Bengal -- Rabindranath Tagore -- won the 1913 Nobel Prize in Literature.

The music: Garry Schyman
The voice: Palbasha Siddique -- a teenager in Minnesota

Stream of Life
by Rabindranath Tagore

Quote:

Stream of Life

The same stream of life that runs through my veins night
and day runs through the world and dances in rhythmic measures.

It is the same life that shoots in joy through the dust of the earth in
numberless blades of grass and breaks into tumultuous waves of leaves and flowers.

It is the same life that is rocked in the ocean-cradle of birth and of death, in ebb and in flow.

I feel my limbs are made glorious by the touch of this world of life.
And my pride is from the lifethrob of ages dancing in my blood this moment.
Apologies.
I'm sitting here on the computer goofing around even though I have been sleep deprived for the past week or three.

M.
