Fluoride - Do You Avoid It?

http://articles.mercola.com/sites/ar...0808_DNL_art_1

I've been reading alot about fluoride lately. The article above has a video at the end (it's NOT Mercola himself) that's pretty informative.

Does anybody here avoid fluoride? I almost bought some Tom's of Maine toothpaste but put it back at the last minute.

This whole subject has me wondering if fluoride is causing many of the diseases that doctor's just cannot figure out. Makes me wonder if it has something to do with Alzheimer's. And Autism.

Just wondering what ya'll know about it and what - if anything - you're doing to avoid it.

I know squat about fluoride,:D. I do remember when my first son was born his pediatrician had me put fluoride drops in his formula because our water wasn't fluoridated (sp?).

I know that doctors don't do this anymore. Hmmm. There must be a reason that they DON'T recommend it now.

I never did like the idea of the gov't adding chemicals to our water, but what can I do?? They seem to think that they know what's better for us than does God, sooooooo, carp.

I have a filter on my tap in the kitchen and that's the only water I drink. But what about the shower? I'm wondering if a filtered shower head is a good investment. They're about $40 so it's not that bad.

The only thing I drink now is water. And coffee....made with filtered water. I know several people who have eliminated fluoride (as much as they can) from their diet.

How can the government get away with this.....and has anyone ever blamed them for a sickness or disease caused by fluoride? It seems like a huge liability given the fact that fluoride is only obtained through a prescription and how can "one dosage size fit all" if it's added to our water supply? So many questions!

I'm thinking of getting the countertop filter for my kitchen. My PUR water filter is ready to be replaced and I'm not so confident it filters out the fluoride.

Without having heard of this before or done any research on the topic just off the top of my head I would think that it is similar to the addition of iodine to salt:

something that we all have ingested for so long that if it caused major issues in a large number of people it would have been recognized before now. Just a guess though. :)

Yes, the FDA and Big Pharma have what they call "Acceptable Risks":mad:

OK, unless you happen to be one of those ARs.

Oh goodie. Not only did my school make me switch from writing with my left hand to writing with my right hand (geez thanks? Now my brain's really mucked up!) but they also poisoned me slowly during elementary making us all do fluoride swishing/walks regularly.

I know they don't do this anymore... I thought it was just because it was so unsanitary (a bunch of kids swishing around fluoride and spitting into a community pail - YUM!), but perhaps not? :p

(Oh yeah, I remember nearly fainting when they wanted me to prick my own finger during high school to test my blood type in science class - another practice they no longer do).

I have a charcol filter on my shower, AND I filter my drinking water. I use non flouride toothpaste and I stay away from the stuff.

I understand why they needed to add flouride as many of the childrens teeth in very impovrished areas were rotting out of their heads, but we should have fixed it with better nutrition, not by adding chemicals to our water.

Look Ma! no cavities! now with Flouride! (please dont allow your child to swallow this toothpaste.)
