I Stopped The Thorazine!!

I've been on Thorazine for about 10 years, and I quit taking it for good, because of all the things it can do to harm you after taking it for a long term basis.
It already has caused problems for me being able to be in the sun,my skin gets a reaction from direct sunlight,I tracked down the cause, and it was the THORAZINE! It can cause certain problems/side effects, after long term use, other than the famous "Thorazine Shuffle",which luckily I didn't get that.
Plus when I looked it up,I saw that it interacted with almost half of the other medications I'm on,my medical medicine's,not psych med's.:Noooo:
So I'm done with it! I hope my psychiatrist doesn't freak,I'll be telling him on the 13th,but I've been going through withdrawals bad,I didn't know it was addicting!

But if he has a problem with it,he'll have a good arguement with me about it,and my medical doctor!:mf_argue:
The only part that sucks is that I can't take any other phenothiazines, because they give me EPS,even the new one's,whether I'm taking Cogentin with them or not,I've tried them, and I still got EPS,that's why they kept me on the Thorazine! So I'll be stuck with nothing for my Psychotic disorder!:Excited:

Eps

EPS is a whole myriad of different symptoms that can present themselves when dopamine is blocked in the extra-pyramidal area of the brain. It would be very important to know if you have akathisia, dyskinesia(s), dystonia(s), and which kind. With out knowing any of that I would say you should try Geodon or Abilify as both have very little direct blockade of dopamine.

I remember I let the Dr. try me on Abilify along time ago, but it threw me into a rage, and they had to take me off of it immediately. I haven't tried Geodon, because I had a friend on it, and it gave her side effects that I won't tolerate, so I refused that one.

It was actually pretty funny what I did on the Abilify. I was stuck behind this chick at a stop sign, and I was getting so ******, more than usual, and I didn't want to wait anymore. There was a cop at the intersection to, and all I needed to do was take the right to get on the freeway, so I got so sick of this chick letting all these cars go by, even cars that were so far away that she had plenty of time to merge in with traffic. I just drove down into the dirt, and up onto the freeway ramp, and off I went.:Noooo:
I was so lucky that cop didn't come after me, but when I looked out my rear view, he was sitting in his car just laughing! I guess I got a pass on that one. But I went right to my Psych Dr. and told him, that I wouldn't usually do that, I had never had road rage before, that something was wrong. And it was the Abilify, once I'd been off it for a little while I calmed down quite a bit!

I saw my PDoc yesterday about stopping the Thorazine, and the cogentin.(they go hand in hand anyway-side effect med.) He had no problem with it, he said I looked like I was doing fine without it,so he just discontinued them. Then he increased the dose on my valium to help with the anxiety attacks, and asked if I was okay with my other meds.,or if I needed, or wanted a change with anything else, I told him everything else was fine, and that I was still taking the rest. He said it was normal to have a little withdrawal from the Thorazine, because I'd been on it for about 10 years. He said he didn't really like the Thorazine anyway, because of the side effects it can cause with long term use. He said if the valium didn't stop,or help the anxiety attacks, we could try some Beta-blockers. But he thought I made the right decision about stopping the Thorazine, that it could have been doing me more harm, than good! He thought I looked better when I came in being off of it,other than my fever, than I usually do.I'm usually off balance, and out of breath. But this time I was thinking much clearer. Had better balance, and didn't seem as exhausted. I just still had my fever, but he's concerned about that, and I think he's going to look into it further, and get on my MedDoc for diagnosing it unexplained without the auto immune testing,or testing for lupus. He mentioned some other testing, I just don't remember them all.
