Nerve Pain when my 'guard' is down.

Dear PN Angels,

I wear my leg braces all day, and my 'grown up clothes'. Last night I noticed when I had taken everything off and was in my nighty, that I 'allowed myself' to feel my body.

I spend a great deal of time (and medications) suppressing feedback from my body.

My legs were very tired, and the muscles were jumping.

And the skin on my legs, arms, hands, and the front of my face felt like I had a sunburn.

This is with 3600 mg gabapentin, 60 mg Cymbalta, and 440 mg twice a day.

In addition I've somehow lost the map of the affected areas in my brain, if that's possible. This explains why I have some trouble eating and drinking.

I am lifting my nerve damaged hand to my nerve damaged face.....and I also cannot feel if there is something on my face or lip. It's a wonder others will eat with me in public!

Does anyone else find that loss of proprioception in areas damaged by PN is very unpleasant?

Or is the pain the over riding concern?

Hugs, ElaineD
